About Perth IV

Perth IV 2011 will be the 62nd Australian Intervarsity Choral Festival, occuring during Summer 2011

For the past sixty one years, choristers from around Australia (and on occasion from overseas) have gathered together in one of our capital cities (Perth, Melbourne, Hobart, Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney and Canberra) for the long-awaited two weeks of the IVCF, most commonly referred to simply as "IV".

Over the two weeks, the 150-200 choristers will intensively rehearse two different concerts, each held about a week apart. The first concert traditionally features a mixture of well known and original Australian works (sometimes written specifically for the event), whilst the second concert is usually a larger concert, performed in conjunction with an orchestra.

In 2011, it will be Perth's turn to once again host the national IV festival.
